Actress Deepika Padukone was in Delhi last night, where her father Prakash Padukone, an ace badminton player, was felicitated. She was accompanied by her mother Ujjala and sister Anisha. Mr Padukone was honored with the Badminton Association of India life time achievement award by vice president. Deepika was dressed in beautiful peach colored silk sari and paired her look with a low bun and earrings. Her mother Ujjala and sister Anisha also choose to wear Indian outfits. 

Deepika was born on January 5, 1986. she is an Indian actress as of 2007. She is the highest paid actress in India, and is the recipient of several awards, including three Filmfare awards. She features in listing of the nation’s most popular personalities. She is the daughter of a badminton player Prakash Padukone, was born in Copenhagen and raised Bangalore. As a teenager, she played badminton in national level championship but left her career in the sport to became a fashion model. She soon received offers for film roles and made her acting debut in 2006 as the title character of the Kannada film Aishwariya. She then played a dual role in her first Bollywood release 2007 blockbuster Om Shanti Om – and won a film fare award for best female debut. 
Alongside her acting career, she participates in stage shows, her written columns for an Indian new paper, is a prominent celebrity endorser for brands and products, and is vocal about issues such as feminism and depression. She has designed her own line her clothing for women and is the founder of The Live Love Laugh Foundation, which create awareness on mental health in India.

Early Life and Modeling Career 
She was born in 5 January 1986 in Copenhagen, Denmark to Konkani speaking parents. Her father Prakash is a former badminton player on international repute, and her mother Ujjala, is a travel agent. Her younger sister Anisha, is a golfer. She was educated at Bangalore’s Sophia High school and completed her pre-university education at Mount Carmel College. She subsequently enrolled at the Indra Gandhi National Open University for a Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology but later quite it due to scheduling conflicts with her modeling career. 
Early in her career, she gained recognition with a television commercial for the soap Liril and modeled for various other brands and products. At the age of 21, she relocated to Mumbai and stayed at her aunt’s home. That year, she gained wider recognition by featuring in the music video for Himesh Reshammiyan’s song Naam Hai Tera. 

Bollywood Career
By the end of 2006, Farah Khan’s Happy New Year was shelved, and Khan had instead cast Deepika for the reincarnation melodrama Om Shanti Om 2007. Set against the backdrop of the Hindi film industry. She played her role opposite Shah Rukh Khan. The film was a commercial success, and emerged highest grossing film of the year. 
The success of Om Shanti Om proved a breakthrough for Deepika. She followed this success with the role of Gayatri, a feisty student in Australia who moonlights as a cab driver in Yash Raj Films romantic comedy Bachna Ae Haseeno 2008. 

Her first release of 2009 came alongside Akshay Kumar in Chandni Chowk to China. The same year, Deepika featured in an item number (for a song called Love Mera Hit Hit) in the drama Billu. Following which she appeared alongside Saif Ali Khan in the romantic drama Love Aaj Kal from the writer director Imtiaz Ali. 

At the year of 2010, Deepika had five film release, including Karthik Calling Karthik, Houseful, Break Ke Bad. In 2011, she began an item number Dum Maro Dum. The song was a remix version of 1971’s film which featured Zeenat Aman. 
In an interview Deepika said, her starring role in 2012 romantic comedy Cocktail marked a significant turning point in her career. 
In 2013, Deepika established herself as a leading actress of contemporary Hindi cinema by featuring in four of the top grossing productions of the year. She collaborated with Saif Ali Khan for the fourth time in Abbas Mustan’s Race 2. Ayan Mukerji’s romantic comedy ‘Ye Jawani Hai Deewani’ was Deepika’s next film release. Her next appearance was opposite Shah Rukh Khan in action comedy film Chennai Express. 
Deepika next played opposite Renveer Singh in ‘Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram Leela’, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The film earned $32 million worldwide. 
After this, she played many roles in other films like, Finding Fanny 2014, Piku 2015, she followed this win an item number in the romantic drama Raabta 2017.
Her new film Padmaavat was release in 25 January 2018.

Personal Life and Affairs
While filming Bachna Ae Haseeno in 2008, Deepika began a romantic relationship with co-star Ranbir Kapoor. She spoke openly about her relationship and sported a tattoo of his initials on the nape of her neck. 
But now, she has been a relationship with Ranveer Singh and said: “when we are with each other, we don’t need anything or anyone else”.
